Deputy Vice Chancellor lauds AdEMNEA Initiative - Prof. Henry Arinaitwe, Ag. Dep. Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration.

Warm greetings from the Deputy VC. We thank the college for this initiative of the AdEMNEA project. Thanks to the key partners – the Norwegian government for providing the funding, NTNU university for providing support as the lead institution, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology and the University of Juba as the other partner institutions.

Thanks to Dr. Julianne Sansa Otim and the team for putting the proposal together and winning the grant. The project is multidisciplinary and I am glad to see members from CEDAT, of which I am the Principal and Colleagues from COVAB.

Thanks to the partnering institutions namely UNMA, NACCRI, NARO, the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and TUNADO for the support they are giving this project. It is a rich project covering a number of areas like Application of ICTs, Agriculture, Beekeeping and the environment in general.

Finally, thanks to the college leadership, the university as a whole for spearheading this and the government of Uganda for providing a good environment for research to thrive.

I hereby officially launch this project on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Makerere University!!!
