AdEMNEA Project Engages Bee Farmers at Apiculture MSP.

While the AdEMNEA Projects aims to develop & deploy an Environment Monitoring Network contributing towards bee protection and fruit fly control, there’s need to conduct further research on Fruit Fly Control and avail relevant information to fruit growers. This was discussed at the TUNADO-MSP Workshop. The AdEMNEA Project Investigator (PI) Dr. Julianne Susanne Sansa-Otim highlighted the significance of involving Bee Farmers & Fruit Growers in the various stages of the project.

Farmers are very much aware of the importance of Technology-enabled environments in farming today. They pointed out the need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in availing prior Weather Information so as to prepare for adverse climatic changes in order to control low fruit yield at harvest time.

In addition, Mr. Omodoi – a fruit farmer from Eastern Uganda (Soroti District) offered his farm for all the project’s Research & fieldwork studies.

Engagements like these will further help the AdEMNEA Project interface with more farmers & several beneficiaries. The TUNADO-AdEMNEA Project Partnership continues to attract more interested stakeholders.
